Week Three: Hydration
Most of us know that our bodies are comprised of about two thirds water. Problems arise when this statistic is jeopardized. Dehydration is a serious concern for people with digestive disorders. The excessive, watery bowel movements that sometimes accompany digestive disorders rid of body of the water that it so crucially needs. A lack of water is a huge impediment to proper digestive functions.
Proper intake is necessary for the body to digest and absorb vitamins and nutrients. It cleanses the liver and kidneys as it works to remove toxins & waste products from our bodies. Water also lubricates the digestive system as it supplies our cells with the right nutrients to optimize proper digestive function.
If you do not have enough water in your systems there are some tell-tale signs of dehydration that set in very quickly. If you are thirsty, then you are already dehydrated. Dry mouth and dried skin are also signs that you may need to drink more water. Other symptoms include dizziness, headaches, and light headedness. So make sure to drink at least eight glasses of water a day. Water is life, and water heals.
Remember to take your AloeElite with a full glass of clean, cool water. Our specialist, Patricia, recommends water at room temperature to optimize its health benefits. Customer care member, Lisa, will only drink water overflowing with ice. Cherie drinks water all day long through a straw. Torrey enjoys spring water by the pitcher full. How do you drink your water? Are you getting enough? Is this one simple change you could make to improve your healing?
Along with diet (see Week One) and stress control (see Week Two), proper hydration can potentially change your life.
