What are the symptoms of ulcerative colitis?
The most common symptoms of ulcerative colitis are abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea. Patients also may experience
- fatigue
- weight loss
- loss of appetite
- rectal bleeding
- loss of body fluids and nutrients
About half of patients have mild symptoms. Others suffer frequent fever, bloody diarrhea, nausea, and severe abdominal cramps. Ulcerative colitis may also cause problems such as arthritis, inflammation of the eye, liver disease (hepatitis, cirrhosis, and primary sclerosing cholangitis), osteoporosis, skin rashes, and anemia. No one knows for sure why problems occur outside the colon. Scientists think these complications may occur when the immune system triggers inflammation in other parts of the body. Some of these problems go away when the colitis is treated.
When using AloeElite, you may find that the abdominal pain is the first symptom to subside. As your body begins to digest foods in a more efficient manner and you are able to absorb the nutrients in your diet, fatigue and weight loss decrease. Bloody diarrhea is typically the last symptom to go, but it does go. Remember, AloeElite is not masking symptoms. It addresses the disease via the immune system. It takes time to control the severe inflammation that causes the bloody diarrhea, but in time, typically by the second or third month, the diarrhea starts to ease. Bowel movements become firmer, less frequent and less painful. As the inflammation in the colon lessens, people often note improvements in their general health, as the functions of the immune system normalize naturally.
